§ 16-26. Contracts for professional services, personal services, and high technology procurements.

  • (a)

    Except for contracts made by the city attorney's office in connection with its provision of legal services on behalf of the city and its employees or representatives, all proposals for professional services, personal services, and high technology procurements shall be secured in accordance with such rules and regulations as established by the intergovernmental services team and the division of purchasing in conjunction with the city manager or the city manager's designee and the Texas Local Government Code.

    (b)

    The awarding of contracts for professional services and personal services shall be awarded by the city council if the contract amount equals or exceeds the amount set out in section 252.021(a) of the Texas Local Government Code, otherwise the contract may be signed by the mayor upon recommendation of the city manager, the city attorney, and the department head involved.

    (c)

    Any award of a contract for professional services shall be done in accordance with chapter 2254, Government Code.
