§ 16C-3. Fees for GIS data.

(a)

Definitions.

Digital copy is defined as any information provided on electronic media for import into or use on another computer system.

GIS data is defined as data contained in the city's geographical information system.

(b)

Paper plots.

All plots are the same price regardless of which plotter produces the output. Additionally, the prices are the same for color or black and white. Nothing herein is intended to modify the otherwise applicable charges for test-only material provided by paper print-out.

(c)

Digital copies. Digital copies of GIS data will be provided for Options 1 through 3 as follows:

(1)

DXF file format for graphics, ASCII file format for text.

(2)

CD-ROM media.

(3)

Pre-determined coverage areas.

(4)

All data sold will be accompanied by a license agreement signed by the purchaser prohibiting the purchaser from copying, selling and/or otherwise distributing the data.

(5)

Any contractor working for the city will be provided, at no charge, any data needed for the contracted project, upon signing an agreement not to distribute, copy or sell the data, and must return the data to the city at the completion of the project. These agreements are to be coordinated through the department of information services.

The following options are available for purchase of digital copies of GIS data:

Option 1: Engineering Data.

This data set includes: Two-foot contours, ten-foot contours, floodplain, planimetrics, water utility lines and associated appurtenances, storm utility lines and associated appurtenances, sewer lines and associated appurtenances, lot lines, subdivisions, city limits, easements, tax numbers and addresses.

This option includes: Planimetrics, platted lot lines, subdivisions, tax lines, zoning cases, detailed land use, census tracts, census blocks, census block groups, census demographics, tax numbers, easements, setbacks, city limits, rights-of-way, tax numbers, tax values and addresses.

Option 4: Easy GIS

The data offered in this option is contained in a proprietary file format and cannot be downloaded into another system. This option includes a complete city-wide data set as well as an easy to use interface, tutorial, and documentation. The data included with this option: subdivisions, tax lines, utilities, zoning, land use, black and while aerial photography, contours, owners' names, addresses, planimetrics, rights-of-way, easements, and setbacks.
