§ 21-16. Same—Promulgation of rules and regulations; placing of signs, etc.

  • (a)

    The city traffic engineer is hereby empowered to make regulations necessary to make effective the provisions of this Code and other traffic ordinances of this city and to make and enforce temporary or experimental regulations to cover emergencies of special ordinances. No such temporary or experimental regulation shall remain in effect for more than ninety (90) days.

    (b)

    The city traffic engineer may test traffic control devices under actual conditions of traffic.

    (c)

    The city traffic engineer may place signs prohibiting or restricting the stopping, standing or parking of vehicles on any highway where the opinion of the city traffic engineer shall deem such stopping, standing or parking is dangerous to those using the highway or where the stopping, standing or parking of vehicles would unduly interfere with the free movement of traffic thereon. Such signs shall be official signs and no person shall stop, stand or park any vehicle in violation of the restrictions stated on such signs.
