§ 21-40. Fire lanes—Texas Stadium parking area.

  • (a)

    The City of Irving may by this section regulate the parking of motor vehicles within the confines of the Texas Stadium parking area.

    (b)

    It is hereby declared unlawful to park or stand a motor vehicle in any designated fire lane within the confines of the Texas Stadium parking area.

    (c)

    The fire lanes appropriately marked are hereby designated at the following locations:

    (1)

    Beginning at the southwest end of the west basement driveway ramp at the east curbline, from this point a fifteen-foot wide fire lane extending approximately seven hundred (700) feet down the ramp to the north entrance to the west basement.

    (2)

    Beginning at the north side of the east entrance to the east basement, from this point a twelve-foot wide fire lane extending approximately four hundred (400) feet west to a point within thirty-eight (38) feet of the playing field entrance to Texas Stadium.

    (3)

    Beginning at the press gate on the west end of Texas Stadium, from this point a twenty-six-foot wide fire lane at the curbline extending approximately two thousand eight hundred fifty-five (2,855) feet in a three hundred sixty-degree circle around the outer perimeter of the curbline, back to the point of beginning.

    (d)

    The city manager is hereby directed and authorized to place appropriate signs or markers for the purpose of informing drivers of vehicles that parking is prohibited at the designated locations.

    (e)

    Any person, firm, corporation or association of persons who shall violate or cause, permit, or allow to be violated any of the provisions of this section shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum of not less than one dollar ($1.00) nor more than two hundred dollars ($200.00) and each such vehicle found parking or standing in any designated lane shall be subject to impoundment by the chief of police.
