§ 21-180. City issuance of identification cards.

  • (1)

    A disabled person may obtain a temporary disabled parking identification card from the city by presenting a letter to the city tax department signed by a licensed physician certifying that the person has a physical or mental impairment necessitating vehicle parking that is near a ramp and/or entrance of a building.

    (2)

    A disabled person may obtain an annual disabled parking identification card from the city by presenting a letter to the city tax department signed by a licensed physician certifying that the person has a physical or mental impairment necessitating vehicle parking that is near a ramp and/or entrance of a building and that such impairment is permanent.

    (3)

    Annual disabled parking identification cards shall be valid from the date of issuance until the next July 1, except that annual cards issued after June 1 of the year shall be valid until July 1 of the subsequent year. A temporary disabled parking identification card shall be valid for a period of six (6) months following its issuance.

    (4)

    The issuance of a subsequent temporary disabled parking identification card shall require a new letter signed by a licensed physician which complies with section 21-180(1).
