§ 34-17. Required prior to issuance of certificate of occupancy; grade, location and specifications generally.

  • Sidewalks shall be constructed in front of each new house or building constructed in the city on the inside lots, and in front of and along the side of each new house or building constructed in the city on cornered lots. Such required construction of sidewalks shall not be construed as conditions precedent to the granting of a building permit, but shall be construed as conditions precedent to the granting of the certificate of occupancy. The city shall withhold utilities from the house or building involved until such sidewalks have been constructed. Sidewalks shall be placed on a grade and at a location determined and approved by the department of public works of the city and shall meet the specifications a set forth by such department.
