§ 38-33. Number; composition; qualifications and terms of office.

(a)

Composition. The committee shall have seven (7) voting members. The committee shall be composed of at least one (1) licensed veterinarian, one (1) county or city official, one (1) person whose duties include the daily operation of an animal shelter, and one (1) representative from an animal welfare organization.

(b)

Qualifications. All voting members of the committee shall be residents of the city or shall have their primary place of business in the city except that the one (1) person whose duties include the daily operation of an animal shelter may be a nonresident of the city.

(c)

Term of office. The seven (7) voting members shall occupy a place on the committee, such places being numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7, respectively. The term of office for all voting members is two (2) years. The term of office for places 1, 3, 5, and 7 shall expire on odd-numbered years. The term of office for places 2, 4, and 6 shall expire on even-numbered years.
