§ 52-2. Multi-unit water billing.

  • (a)

    Multi-unit uses, such as apartments, mobile home parks, hotels, motels, duplex, triplex, and fourplex shall be billed using the water rates for apartments under section 52-1.

    (b)

    When a multi-unit use which is also a master metered apartment house, as defined in chapter 8A of this Code for purposes of water service, has water service discontinued for non-payment, the customer shall pay to the city a resident displacement fee of five hundred dollars ($500.00) for each unit affected by the discontinuance of service, which money is to be used to defray the moving costs of residents, and such cost shall be considered an additional penalty. From money gathered from this displacement fee, or money set aside for this purpose, city shall cause to be paid five hundred dollars ($500.00) to the renter of each unit which no longer has water service as a result of the service discontinuance to be applied toward the costs of moving from the master metered apartment complex.
