§ 55-10. Notification of proposed rate increase.

  • (a)

    A cable operator shall provide written notice to a subscriber of any increase in the price to be charged for the basic service tier or associated equipment at least thirty (30) days before any proposed increase is effective. The notice shall include a provision stating that protests to such prices may be filed with the city at Cable Communications Department, 233 South Rogers Road, Irving, Texas 75060. The notice shall also include a statement that such protests, in order to be effective, must be filed with the city no later than twenty-one (21) days after the notice is received by the subscriber.

    (b)

    In addition to the notice required in paragraph (a), the cable operator shall give the city a minimum of thirty (30) days' advance written notification of any changes in rates for cable programming service or associated equipment.
