§ 21-35. Tampering with vehicle prohibited.

  • It shall be unlawful for any person, without the consent of the owner or person in charge of a vehicle to climb upon or into such vehicle, whether the same be in motion or at rest; or for any person while such is at rest and unattended to attempt to manipulate any of the levers, the starting crank or other devices, brakes or mechanism thereof; or to set the vehicle in motion.

    It shall be unlawful for any person, individually or in association with one (1) or more others, to wilfully break, injure, tamper with or remove any part of any vehicle for the purpose of injuring, defacing or preventing its useful operation, or for any purpose against the will or without the full consent of the owner of such vehicle.
