§ 54-27. Powers and duties.

The powers and duties of the health services division, may be those delegated thereto by the city manager, law or ordinance unless otherwise delegated to another department or division of the city by the city manager and may include, but not be limited to:

(1)

Personal health promotion and maintenance services.

(2)

Infectious disease control and prevention services.

(3)

Environmental and consumer health programs for the enforcement of health and safety laws relating to food, water, waste control, general sanitation, animal control and vector control.

(4)

Public health education and information services.

(5)

Those duties and responsibilities delegated by ordinance and/or the Code of Civil and Criminal Ordinances of the City of Irving, Texas, to the department of health, health department, director of health and/or health director unless otherwise delegated to another department or division of the city by the city manager.
