§ 6-17. Animal service fees.

  • (a)

    Registration fees. The registration fee for each:

    (1)

    Animal which has had a microchip implanted ..... $ 5.00

    (2)

    Sterilized animal which has not had a microchip implanted ..... 10.00

    (3)

    Non-sterilized animal which has not had a microchip implanted ..... 15.00

    (b)

    Animal shelter fees are as follows:

    (1)

    Adoption of adult cats and dogs, which includes rabies vaccination, health check, deworm, and microchip

    With sterilization ..... $70.00

    Without sterilization ($50.00 sterilization certificate provided) ..... 70.00

    (2)

    Adoption of preferred breeds/mixes, kittens and puppies, which includes rabies vaccination, health check, deworm, and microchip:

    With sterilization ..... 100.00

    Without sterilization ($50.00 sterilization certificate provided) ..... 100.00

    (3)

    Owner reclaims of impounded animals ..... 50.00

    (4)

    Vaccination fee (rabies) ..... 10.00

    (5)

    Quarantine fee (rabies vaccination, microchip, and boarding, or disposal and shipping to Texas Department of State Health Services) ..... 100.00

    (c)

    Waiver or reduction of certain fees. The animal services manager or his/her designee shall have the authority to waive or reduce fees under this chapter only in the following circumstances:

    (1)

    As part of a national, statewide, regional, local, or city event being held to encourage the adoption of animals; or

    (2)

    If a pet owner submits a signed written request to the animal services department verifying their inability to pay the fee; or

    (3)

    If the animal services manager or his/her designee determines that it is in the best interest of the animal(s) to waive or reduce the fee.
