§ 54-30. Local health authority.

  • The city council may appoint a physician to a two-year term to serve as local health authority and compensate such person. To be qualified for the appointment, the person must be a resident of the state, be licensed to practice medicine by the state board of medical examiners, and be otherwise qualified to practice medicine in the state. The local health authority will take and subscribe to the official oath and file such oath and appointment with the state board of health and the city health board.
